Astrophysicist and Cosmologist

Dr. Alexandra Amon is a Trinidadian astrophysicist and observational cosmologist. She is currently a research fellow at Stanford University and focuses her research on dark matter and dark energy. She received the prestigious Michael Penston Prize for her work in 2019.

Dr. Kristin Anderson

Cancer Immunology Researcher

Dr. Kristin Anderson is an award-winning cancer survivor turned cancer immunotherapy researcher. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington.

Alyssa Columbus is a member of the Spring 2018 Class of NASA Datanauts with over five years of experience as a data scientist, information security analyst, and machine learning researcher. Her technical guides, tutorials, and articles have been featured by leading organizations, including Forbes, Microsoft, and Google.

Dr. Janet Iwasa

Molecular Animator

Janet Iwasa is a molecular animator, TED Senior Fellow, and Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Utah. Her award-winning illustrations and animations have appeared in scientific journals including Nature, Science and Cell, and The New York Times.

Dr. Kristin Lauter

Mathematician and Cryptographer

Dr. Kristin Lauter is an award-winning mathematician and cryptographer who studies number theory and algebraic geometry in cryptography. She is the head of the Cryptography and Privacy Research group at Microsoft Research, and served as President of the Association for Women in Mathematics from 2015 - 2017.

Dr. Karen Lozano

Mechanical Engineer

Dr. Karen Lozano is a mechanical engineer at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She received the Presidential Excellence Award from the White House for her work in 2019, and was inducted to the National Academy of Inventors in 2020.

Dr. Gioia Rau

Astrophysicist

Dr. Gioia Rau is a research scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Laboratory of Exoplanets and Stellar Astrophysics. Her current research involves the study of evolved stars, exoplanets, and stellar evolution. She is also a Research Assistant Professor at the Catholic University of America.
